One of the most beautiful beaches in South Pelion, on the side of the Aegean Sea, is the Potistika beach. The access is very easy and it is located just 3km outside of the village of Xinovrisi and 7km from the village of Argalasti. 
It is a fantastic beach with fine sand and turquoise, clear waters, though they get very deep quite suddenly. Dominating the beach are the large rocks scattered in the sea, perfect for diving into the sea for any swimmers who can manage to climb onto them.
The surrounding scenery is incredibly green with rolling hillsides and olives groves, and due to the large size of the beach of Potistika, it never gets crowded. On the beach there operates a cafeteria, two bars, restaurants, three tavernas and some years there is sunbed rental. It is a good idea though to have with you the basic necessities just in case.
Potistika is constantly growing and you can now find many different shops and stores offering amenities. Campers tend to gather there too as free camping is allowed.
Following the footpath south you arrive at the neighboring and equally magical beach of Melani. When the Meltemi wind starts to blow the waves pick up significantly and extra care is needed, as with the other beaches on the Aegean side.
